Executive Development

A fundamental challenge facing any leader is to achieve outstanding results through others. Doing so in today's decentralized, cross-functional work environment requires finesse with complex interpersonal dynamics, a command of leadership theory and practice, and a willingness to improve continuously.

Our team has devised a systematic leadership development planning process that builds on an objective and comprehensive assessment of an executive's strengths, developmental needs, and barriers to success. In one-on-one collaboration with each member of the executive team, we formulate and help implement a practical, realistic, and challenging development plan to capitalize on the strengths, address the developmental needs, and remove barriers to success. The plan contains specific, operationally defined goals, specific developmental experiences carefully designed to meet those developmental goals, and observable measures of positive organizational impact as a result of attaining the goals. (We view development as a process designed to enable the executive to be more effective, not simply to know more.) When appropriate, the executive's superiors are called upon to provide ongoing support, coaching, feedback, and training.

We also serve as trusted advisors to executives, acting as a neutral "sounding board" to help them refine and test their new ideas before committing to making major changes.
