Mentoring Programs
Mentoring is a powerful tool for increasing the effectiveness of employees.
As a process, it typically is highly rewarding both for the mentor and the mentee.
It builds loyalty by providing career assistance to junior or less experienced
employees, trainees, and interns, helping to transmit important unwritten technical
information as well as key aspects of the organization's unique culture. Both
mentors and mentees need assistance in developing realistic goals, producing
behavior change, and delivering and receiving constructive feedback. The Center
provides programs that prepare employees to be mentors and mentees. The Center
also helps with the pairing of mentors and mentees, with resolving problems
that can arise, and with evaluating and improving mentoring programs.
